MOUNT VERNON, Ga. —  Brewton-Parker College is thrilled to announce that its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has achieved full approval from the Georgia Board of Nursing. This milestone, effective as of Jan. 22, 2025, marks another significant step forward for BPC’s nursing program as it continues to excel in meeting the highest standards of nursing education in Georgia.

Dr. Debbi Bryarly, director of Nursing, expressed her gratitude, stating, “This approval is a testament to the dedication of our faculty, staff, and students who have worked tirelessly to build a program of excellence. From the very beginning, our vision has been guided by a commitment to serving our region with highly qualified nurses grounded in a Biblically-centered education. We give God all the glory for this achievement and remain steadfast in our mission to prepare graduates who will make a profound impact in the healthcare field.”

Brewton-Parker College’s nursing program launched in 2021 to address the critical shortage of nurses in rural South Georgia. Since its inception, the program has achieved several milestones, including Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing accreditation in 2024 and a 100% pass rate for its inaugural graduating cohort on the National Council Licensure Examination in 2024.

Dr. Steve Echols, President of Brewton-Parker College, affirmed the remarkable achievements of the program, “This full approval from the Georgia Board of Nursing reflects the exceptional quality of our program and the unwavering dedication of Dr. Bryarly and her team. It is a significant step in fulfilling our mission to provide transformative, Biblically-centered education to students, equipping them to serve their communities with excellence as healthcare professionals and ambassadors for Christ. The future of our nursing program is bright, and we are excited about its continued growth and impact.”

The nursing degree at Brewton-Parker College is distinguished as the only BSN program offered at a Christian college south of Macon, Georgia, and north of Jacksonville, Florida. With a focus on combining academic rigor with a Biblically-grounded perspective, BPC continues to demonstrate its commitment to preparing students for lifelong learning and service in Christ.
