MOUNT VERNON, Ga. — Brewton-Parker Christian University is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $50,000 grant from the Meadows New Foundation. This funding will provide scholarships for nursing students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program and directly support nursing faculty. The grant will invest in aspiring nurses from Toombs, Montgomery, and Wheeler counties, addressing the critical healthcare shortage in rural Georgia.
The Meadows New Foundation’s mission to improve health equity and access to care aligns closely with BPCU’s dedication to equipping nursing students with both clinical excellence and compassionate hearts to serve the surrounding rural communities and beyond. The grant will offer essential financial support and strengthen retention and recruitment for the BSN program.
“We are immensely grateful for the generosity of the Meadows New Foundation,” said Dr. Steven Echols, President of Brewton-Parker Christian University. “This grant will enable us to invest in the futures of our nursing students, providing them with high-quality training and a biblically-centered education to prepare them as ambassadors for Christ in the healthcare field.”
