God has given man many good things to steward and enjoy. Science is one of them.
Science can be defined as organized knowledge. But science is limited to observable nature that can be measured. Unfortunately, Satan has corrupted the thinking of many of today’s scientists to the point of atheism. They actually believe that the universe spontaneously popped into existence from nothing. They deny the fact that God created the universe and everything in it from nothing.
Science today has regrettably identified with the naturalistic worldview. This is a view that, unfortunately, opposes Christianity by directly denying the theistic worldview. Some Christians have tried to embrace both beliefs. We call this situation Christian Liberalism.
This heresy dominated the church in Europe in the 1800s and America nearer to the twentieth century. That fact is evident due to the number of atheistic professors today. It is also evident in that every modern biology textbook holds evolution as fact and the foundation of modern biology. The truth is that evolution is still very much only a theory. And it is a porous and very poor theory at that.
Naturalism views creation as merely the product of chance. Charles Darwin was the chief proponent. He was an English naturalist who founded the modern theory of evolution. How I pity all atheists! They are destined for eternal hellfire if they don’t see the Light before dying!
Interestingly, we are seeing more and more scientists today who are abandoning the theory of evolution as quite inadequate to explain life. These scientists have enough sense to realize that nothing comes from nothing spontaneously on its own. They realize the fact that scientific naturalism is much too flawed to be true. Most scientists today, even atheistic ones, admit that the universe had to have a beginning. They ignore the fact that anything that has a beginning must have something to create it: a Creator, in other words.
Actually, there is no conflict between science and Christianity. The great Galileo made the statement, “The Holy Ghost intended to teach us how to go to heaven, not how the heavens go.” Many scientists who believed in Christ have lived, and many still do. Probably the most eminent was Sir Isaac Newton, considered one of the five brightest geniuses who ever lived. You will find dozens of others of great renown who have been believers. There are many geniuses living today.
The most fortunate of scientists were obviously elected by God Almighty. And therefore they believe His Word. As the writer of Hebrews tells us, “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible” (Hebrews 11:3).
In spite of all the lies and concoctions of the devil, God is not an unknown designer of the universe, but the only living Lord, Yahweh, who created us to live lovingly with Him now and forever. How sad that Satan temporarily destroyed that plan by tempting Eve and Adam in the Garden of Eden. But despite all the confusion and uncertainty of the world today, we must remember what the Apostle Paul told us in 1 Corinthians 13:12, “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.”
Though we were all spiritually dead at one time, God provided a way out by sending His only begotten, the Lord Jesus, to die and pay the price of all our sins on the cross of Calvary. Let us praise and worship Him forever. Amen.
