Once again, Georgia Baptists will have the opportunity to have leaders and church members from across the state at the Capitol on February 5, 2025, for the 12th annual legislative event. We will get to hear from leaders across our nation and state on standing for Christ in the public square.

Imagine hundreds of Georgia Baptists standing shoulder to shoulder under the Gold Dome—lifting prayers, building relationships, and influencing the future of our state for the sake of the gospel. That’s exactly what will happen at the 2026 Georgia Baptist Day at the Capitol!

The event will again combine the annual Legislative Prayer Breakfast and Capitol Day. Everything begins at 7:30 AM and ends at 2:00 PM in the Floyd Room at the Sloppy Floyd building across the street from the State Capitol in Atlanta.

As usual, this event has continued to increase in attendance and enthusiasm for the opportunity for ministry leaders and laymen to discover how to navigate the legislative landscape for the sake of advancing a witness for the gospel everywhere.

Georgia Baptists are also invited to ask their state legislators to join them at the event. This event is not just for pastors, but all legislators, pastors’ wives, ministry leaders, church members and the general public, and we have changed the name from Pastors Day at the Capitol to Georgia Baptist Day to reflect that. All Georgia Baptists are invited to discover how to engage the legislative process of state government from a Biblical worldview.

Following breakfast, attendees will be able to take a tour of the State Capitol before lunch. This will give citizens an opportunity to possibly meet their legislators and learn how to navigate the Capitol for future visits.

This year’s speakers will include Sid Bream, former Atlanta Braves First Baseman; David Barton, founder of the national organization, WallBuilders; Professor John Kindt, former professor from the University of Illinois; pro-life advocates  Suzanne and Rachel Guy; Brad Hughes, director of the Governor’s Office Outreach and Public Affairs Committee chairman for the Mission Board; former state Sen. Josh McKoon; and former State Rep. Kevin Cooke.

We are also looking forward to Rhon Carter (GBMB Worship and Music Catalyst) leading a time of music and worship during the Legislative Prayer Breakfast.

Also, in addition to our speakers, the GBMB Public Affairs Committee will recognize the 2025 Legislators of the Year for their service and support. It is so important to recognize and stand with leaders at the State Capitol who are helping us with the social and moral issues facing our state.

We also encourage you to invite your legislator to breakfast free of charge! There is no cost for general registration, but both breakfast and lunch will be offered as add-ons for a small charge to the general public.
