DULUTH, Ga. – The Georgia Baptist Foundation staff is working diligently after the holiday season to plan their annual Church Financial Conferences (CFC24) – formerly named Financial Compliance Seminars. Year-end giving tends to add more excitement to the Foundation office as stock and qualified charitable distribution gifts are processed in December and January.
Pamela Mills, vice president of Trust Services, is distinctly gifted in her ability to provide personal giving guidance to Georgia Baptist individuals throughout the state. Last year, she made her debut at the Church Financial Conferences while speaking on ‘Creative Giving Strategies to Fuel Church Budgets.’ Once the conferences concluded, several requests were received for Pamela to share more details on these giving strategies at upcoming conferences.
This year, Pamela will teach attendees how seamless the procedure is for church members to tithe directly from their Individual Retirement Account (IRA), the benefits of tithing and receiving qualified charitable distribution gifts, and how the Foundation can assist in the process.
Qualified charitable distribution gifts are not the only major topic that will be discussed at this year’s CFC24 – a GuideStone Financial Services representative will also share about pastoral compensation packages. Recently, Lifeway Research published an article regarding the stagnancy of pastoral salaries since 2019, despite rising costs of living.
The representative from GuideStone will cover topics such as salary structure, retirement benefits, health insurance, and other methods to address the unique needs of pastors. For pastoral and church staff members, another session hosted by GuideStone will provide reminders on personal investing and retirement planning strategies to ensure a secure financial future.
Those who are responsible for church funds will benefit from the direction of Tony Neal, church finance expert. His session will focus on church financial integrity and legal regulations. The Georgia Baptist Foundation Development team’s session will focus on church fund management and growth strategies for reserve funds.
No matter a church’s size, the Georgia Baptist Foundation is available to provide support for raising funds, managing funds, and empowering generous givers. The Foundation, along with the hosting pastor for each conference, will lead a Q&A session to encourage collaboration and growth so that all Georgia Baptist churches can thrive together.
The Church Financial Conferences will be hosted in five locations this spring, beginning on February 8, 2024. Tickets can be purchased at gbfoundation.org/cfc.
