Ma Aye is a mother and manual laborer. When an earthquake devastated Myanmar on March 28, 2025, her family of four lost everything. “We never imagined we would own a house again,” she said. But thanks to a generous donor, they now live in a safe, new home. “We are incredibly happy. We thank the donors, and we thank God.”
In another village, a mother-in-law beamed with joy as her son-in-law was baptized—one of many coming to faith as the Church steps up in the middle of crisis. In Pyinmana, a family celebrated the completion of their home with a traditional meal, lifting praise to Jesus.
These aren’t just stories of survival. They’re stories of revival.
Myanmar is predominantly Buddhist, and Christians are a small minority. But right now, in the wake of disaster, the gospel is advancing in places where it’s rarely been heard.
Because Send Relief already had a presence in Southeast Asia, our teams were ready when the earthquake hit. And we’re not leaving anytime soon. Local churches and trusted partners are continuing to meet urgent needs and share the hope of Christ.
What’s Happening Now
Even in places where homes were built on stilts over lakes, teams are working creatively to rescue submerged beams, straighten collapsed structures, and construct floating toilets. Transitional repairs let families stay on their land and begin to rebuild with dignity.
More than 200,000 people are still displaced in the Inle Lake region alone. They need shelter, clean water, and sustainable employment—especially women and youth.
Your generosity helps restore homes, rebuild lives, and spark gospel transformation.
