A team of Georgia Baptists spent last week in western Kentucky, working alongside local believers to rebuild homes damaged by a massive tornado in December 2021.

According to the National Weather Service, the huge storm was the longest continuous tornado track on record in Kentucky at 163 miles (plus another two miles in Tennessee). In Ohio County, Ky., the storm damaged and destroyed scores of homes, but caused only one injury and no fatalites.

Fellow believers in Ohio County pitched in to support the Georgia team. Cedar Grove Baptist Church delivered lunches every day, and  New Assembly Church provided lodging for the week.

Georgia volunteers from Legacy Baptist Church, Dallas, and Hurt Road Baptist Church, worked on several homes in conjunction with Kentucky Baptist Disaster Relief and the Ohio County Baptist Association.
