Search team nominates longtime educator Jeff Iorg to be next Executive Committee leader

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The SBC Executive Committee’s presidential search team is recommending longtime educator Jeff Iorg as the organization’s next leader.

The Executive Committee said in a statement Friday that Iorg will be presented for a vote at a meeting March 21.

“Iorg's career is best exemplified in his accomplishments as president of Gateway Seminary, where, since 2004, his visionary leadership significantly transformed the institution and expanded its reach and impact domestically and globally,” the statement said.

“Most notably, he managed the seminary’s relocation to Southern California, built a new Bay Area campus, and launched Gateway’s online campus, all while growing the endowment from $16 million to $60 million and without incurring debt.”
