ROME, Ga. — Shorter University’s football team partnered with esp Inc. on Thursday, Oct. 16, for a special practice session at Barron Stadium. Individuals of all abilities joined the team on the field for drills and touchdown celebrations.
esp, a nonprofit that supports individuals with disabilities, brought participants to take part in football activities alongside Shorter University players. The session offered a fun and inclusive environment for everyone involved.
As part of the event,  esp participants will also take part in an exciting moment during Shorter’s upcoming home game. They will run through the Hawk head alongside the football team, joining the game day tradition that kicks off each home game with enthusiasm and pride.
This inclusive experience highlights the power of teamwork, empathy, and shared celebration. Through this partnership, the Shorter football program and esp continue to show how sports can bring communities together in uplifting and meaningful ways.
