CLEVELAND, Ga. — On Wednesday, January 15th, Truett McConnell University’s Hans Hut School of Business announced it has received accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). With more than 30 years of promoting excellence in global business program accreditation, ACBSP was the first organization offering specialized business accreditation for all degree levels, from associate to baccalaureate to doctoral degree programs. ACBSP accreditation certifies that the teaching and learning processes within the business degrees and programs offered through Truett McConnell University (TMU) meet the rigorous educational standards established by ACBSP.
Based on the Baldrige Education Criteria for Performance Excellence, ACBSP accreditation evaluates aspects of leadership, strategic planning, relationships with stakeholders, quality of academic programs, faculty credentials, and educational support to determine whether the business programs offer a rigorous educational experience and demonstrate continuous quality improvement.
“Truett McConnell University has shown its commitment to teaching excellence and to the process of quality improvement by participating in the accreditation process,” said ACBSP Chief Accreditation Officer Dr. Steve Parscale. “This accreditation is evidence that Truett McConnell University is committed to providing the highest quality business education for their students.”
Regarding this distinction, Dr. Kimberly Maiocco, Dean of the College of Professional Studies and Chair of the Hans Hut School of Business, said, “This recognition affirms our commitment to providing high-quality, rigorous, and impactful business education. It is a testament to the hard work of our faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders, and reflects our dedication to equipping future business leaders with the skills, ethics, and biblical values needed to excel in today’s competitive landscape. We are excited to continue advancing our mission, growing our program, and empowering students to make a difference in their fields.”
The following business programs at TMU are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (with concentrations in: General Business, Management and Leadership, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, Sports Management, Supply Chain Management, Industrial and Organizational, Psychology, and MBA Track); Bachelor of Science in Accounting, and Master of Business Administration.
Dr. Maël Disseau, Vice President for Academic Services, commented, “Dr. Maiocco and her faculty have worked very diligently to bring the Hut School of Business to this level of excellence. This stems from their desire to do all things as unto Christ, and their drive to produce believers who will be the next generation of business leaders.”
TMU also recently announced that the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges approved a higher level of accreditation for the university which allows TMU to begin offering doctoral programs. Subsequently, TMU is launching a new Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) program this fall. The DBA program is a transformative journey designed for business professionals seeking to elevate their leadership, strategic thinking, and innovation skills. The program is designed with flexibility to accommodate busy professionals, is 100% online, and can be completed as little as 27 months.
