Bible study: Instructions given

Numbers 33 recounts every stage of Israel’s journey from Egypt to the plains of Moab, where they are poised to enter the promised land. Moses records this itinerary under God’s command, reminding the people of where they’ve been, what God has done, and what’s still required before they settle in Canaan.

Bible study: When God interrupts your life

In the past, there were roughly three television stations available to the public. I remember watching a program or a ball game as a child, and then the president would come on to speak to the nation. The unwelcome interruption would be on all three channels, and I was forced to listen to Ronald Reagan instead of watching my favorite entertainment.

On Sept. 21, 2024, Hurricane Helene tore through Georgia with devastating force. One year later, the scars remain—blue tarps still cling to rooftops, ancient oaks lie splintered in fields, and the skyline in Hazlehurst stands conspicuously without a steeple.

BUCKSNORT, Tenn. — With warm words, warm smiles, and warm food, Tennessee Baptist Disaster Relief volunteers are aiding the recovery efforts in Hickman County in the aftermath of the deadly explosion Friday, Oct. 10, at the Accurate Energetic Systems plant.

Cheers erupted from the newly commissioned International Mission Board missionaries for the six global mission partners taking the stage. The representatives from Junta de Missões Nacionais in Brazil and the Korean Foreign Mission Board in Korea completed seven weeks of pre-field orientation alongside the American missionaries.

Pastor's wife: Buoying the spirit

The Bible study time was great, and the Dunkin' Donuts coffee had been oh, so good. It was a wonderful start for the day. Later in the morning, I realized I felt lighthearted; my spirit was buoyed. I had a feeling of joy that lingered.

Thursday thoughts: 'My anchor holds!'

I heard a song on the way to work this morning, and it really spoke to my heart. Years ago, our church had a benefit concert to raise money for our family. Our daughter with special needs, Missie, had been granted a spot in a residential facility, but the funding from the State of Georgia would not be in place for two months. Needless to say, we did not have the money to pay for the two months, as residential mental health care is very expensive.
