DALLAS (BP) – Resolutions to be presented to messengers to the 2025 SBC Annual Meeting include calls to ban sports betting and pornography and strong statements on the natural family and religious liberty. The SBC Committee on Resolutions released its proposed resolutions on May 30.
NASHVILLE (BP) – A major renovation project is forcing the SBC Annual Meeting to move from Salt Lake City in 2027, according to the SBC Executive Committee. Messengers to the 2025 SBC Annual Meeting will be asked to allow the meeting to move to Indianapolis, the 2024 host city.

The case, Preston Garner et. al. v. Southern Baptist Convention et. al., regards an inquiry made by the SBC Credentials Committee in the course of following up on a confidential report made to the SBC’s abuse hotline.
CAIRO, Ga. — Anne Parks, 92, one of Georgia Baptists' most gracious and godly women, has gone to glory. Her son, Keith Parks, recently retired pastor of First Baptist Church in Americus, declared, “Our mother had a sweet passing into eternity. My brother was with her throughout the night and said that he heard her praying just about all night long. She didn’t sleep, but was constantly speaking, mostly talking to the Lord.”
