Karl Menninger was an American psychiatrist and author. Perhaps his most famous book was titled “Whatever Became of Sin?” We live in a culture that does not understand the nature and danger of sin. If we do not name sin for what it is, then we may suffer emotionally and perhaps physically in our individual lives and as a culture. Psalm 32 is one of the psalms of repentance.

Can you recall someone in your life — past or present — who seemed to exude the presence and joy of Christ at all times? It could be a minister, a grandparent, or a Sunday School teacher. Regardless of the person, they left an impact on your faith journey that continues to this day.

ENEMY SWIM, S.D. — The New Choctaw Baptist Association led its first combined mission trip June 15-21 to partner with an isolated church in South Dakota.

While most Americans remain distrustful of the church, a growing number say they have confidence in the institution. Currently, 36% say they trust the church, according to Gallup’s annual tracking poll.
